January 26, 2007--New York senator Hillary Clinton has hired an Iowa campaign manager, just before her first visit to the state as a presidential candidate. Clinton officials say veteran Iowa operative Jodee Winterhof will run Clinton's state operation in Iowa.
Winterhof, a native of Iowa, served as Iowa senator Tom Harkin's chief of staff from 1999-2003. She also worked on Harkin's presidential run, in 1992, and his senatorial campaigns.
Senator Clinton will be in Des Moines tomorrow. She's scheduled to speak at Des Moines' East High School on the topic of renewing the promise of America.
In preparation for her visit to Iowa, some metro student volunteers made support signs. Last night, around 25 to 30 students and parents met at East High School's community center with their poster board and paint.
